My barbershop experience began in 1977 and includes many thousands of miles driving from Lufkin to choruses in Nacogdoches, Kilgore, Houston and currently Tyler, Texas and also once a month to Shreveport for their contest experiment. (I had the pleasure of competing at Intl 3 different times with Houston)
Included was always a quartet including: Gentlemen Gems, Turn of a Friendly Chord, Four The Moment, EngelPerry 4 (mixed), East Texas Chord Co., MP4 and currently Class Reunion. I have sung and competed in all 4 parts, with the best success in lead, winning Div. 6 a couple of times with FTM. Feb. 14th is my birthday and I always have a great time spending my day, singing in a good quartet to all those unsuspecting folks.
In 2005 I became a CSR (chapter support representative) and served the Spring, TX chapter and NW Louisiana chapter until this program was discontinued in 2009.
